In this lesson the truth is plainly given: if you are going to follow Jesus you must deny yourself. You must let go of your life and surrender control. You must choose what this life has to offer or choose to follow Jesus. You get to choose, but you can’t avoid choosing. Today, you are choosing one path or the other.

The road to glory, following Jesus, is not necessarily an easy road. There is suffering now, but for an eternal glory that far outweighs it all. Some denial now, but an eternity gained.
